After their first visit to Mallard Cove, innkeepers Linda and Don dreamed of keeping this uniquely beautiful 14-acre area unspoiled by development. Thanks to the Nisqually Land Trust (http://nisquallylandtrust.org/), The Inn at Mallard Cove is now part of a larger 37-acre conservation area known as the Hogum Bay Protected Area (http://nisquallylandtrust.org/our-lands-and-projects/protected-areas/hogum-bay/). Linda and Don are partnering with the Land Trust to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife that abounds here. Pictured in this post is part of a brochure insert describing this wonderful Puget Sound cove, coastal lagoon and forest. Also pictured is a group of land trust staff and volunteers who periodically visit our inn to ensure non-native, invasive plant species do not gain ground. Thank you, Nisqually Land trust! Life is good here at Mallard Cove!
