Mallard Cove: A Protected Area

After their first visit  to Mallard Cove, innkeepers Linda and Don dreamed of keeping this uniquely beautiful 14-acre area unspoiled by development.  Thanks to the Nisqually Land Trust (, The Inn at Mallard Cove is now part of a larger 37-acre conservation area known as the Hogum Bay Protected Area ( Linda and Don are partnering with the Land Trust to preserve the natural beauty and wildlife that abounds here.  Pictured in this post is part of a brochure insert describing this wonderful Puget Sound cove, coastal lagoon and forest.  Also pictured is a group of land trust staff and volunteers who periodically visit our inn to ensure non-native, invasive plant species do not gain ground.  Thank you, Nisqually Land trust! Life is good here at Mallard Cove!NLT Work Party image001 Blog post 3 jpeg
